“Serving the community of Boyle Heights for 58 years.”
Francis of Assisi was poor only that he might be Christ-like. He loved nature because it was another manifestation of the beauty of God. He did great penance (apologizing to "Brother Body" later in life) that he might be totally disciplined for the will of God. His poverty had a sister, humility, by which he meant total dependence on the good God. But all this was, as it were, preliminary to the heart of his spirituality: living the gospel life, summed up in the charity of Jesus and perfectly expressed in the Eucharist.

OUR CATHOLIC SCHOOL OPENS FOR THE 58TH YEAR We have had the privilege of having a Catholic School serviced by the Franciscan Sisters of Mary Immaculate for some 57 years. I am very grateful for the dedication and the spiritual presence of our Sisters during those years. They are what have kept our school “Catholic” for these long years. If your child or children want to come to the Catholic School, please bring them to the school office as soon as possible. We have special plans for the families in need to help with the expenses. No child is refused at our school because of the lack of money. We do ask that the parents support the school and its activities. For more info, call 261-5750 or 268-1141.

Resurrection School strives to present learning as a stimulating, challenging, and Life-long process, in which each child can develop into a self-disciplined, creative and sensitive individual. We are committed to the full development of every child’s potential: spiritual, moral, intellectual, physical, psychological and social. We will provide an enriched environment, which emphasizes and nurtures each person’s unique worth and dignity. This continuous affirmation of lived faith helps individuals to become loving and responsible, with values and skills that will enable them to positively impact our vast multicultural society. We must also emphasize the need to work cooperatively at all levels, with the belief that Parents are the primary educators of their children, In a collective effort with parents, teachers will share the responsibility as facilitators in the Catholic education of the student in a family atmosphere. Furthermore, dedicated clergy and administrators will foster leadership and love, to bringing parents and teachers together in promoting the formation of the whole child.
